This Week’s Learning

In Topic, we edited and improved our persuasive speeches about plastic pollution. In addition to that, we have been very creative in Art this week. We learnt about Monet and Banksy and looked at some of their art work and the techniques they used. Then, we practised using different media (paint, water colours, pastels, pens, pencils) and techniques to gather ideas for a final piece of artwork. We created a final piece of artwork in the style of Monet, but we added plastic pollution to the river (which is similar to one of Banksy’s paintings) to show the deadly effects it has on our precious planet.

In Maths, we have been practising our 7, 9 and 12 times tables, recognising multiples and solving related problems. We have spotted patterns in the times tables as well as learning strategies and rules to help us remember and apply the number facts. We have also used our knowledge of multiples and times tables to help us solve multiplication problems.
